British visit Day 1

Monday June 4

Sarah had the day off. Of course she had tried to have as much time for her aunt and uncle as possible. Dave is her godfather too.

We had arranged to meet at Maymont. It's one of our favorite places.

Maymont has some animals which have been rescued and can't be released. Here we were looking at a gorgeous lynx. There were also hawks, eagles and both black bears were active. There is also a little place with farm animals but sorry, no photos.

Of course we were with two cars but split up. James needed to stop at Costco on the way to Sarah's house. Kate and David wanted to have a look at it too and then Caleb begged to be taken. No problem. We had his carseat in the trunk.

So I went with Sarah and the twins. Getting out of the park we were stopped by oodles of geese blocking the road. Sarah went very slowly through them. I missed taking the photo when there was a sea of them.

Sarah and I feed Colin and Owen and put them to bed for their nap. They were over tired. When the others arrived we had lunch.

After their naps (can't remember whether Caleb had one) it was playtime.
All three of the children were very happy to have so much attention from so many adults.

For a short time we went out in the garden. In the shade it is quite nice. David is the one who suffers the most when it is very hot.

Sarah was talking to Kate about her floor steamer for the kitchen and wanted to demonstrate it. The children "helped" with the sweeping beforehand.

James and Kate took Caleb to his swimming lesson. They are semi-private with a friend's son. Caleb has no fear and thinks he can swim. He is a good floater though and paddles.

Afterwards some playtime. So Caleb!

Wade grilled on the green egg of course and we all enjoyed a very delicious dinner.

Then Caleb and Kate played a game of memory. Guess who won.

Bedtime for the Wallers because it's a workday tomorrow. Time for us to go home too.
What a lovely time we all had.
