This and that

William is gone! BIG THANK YOUs to Helen and Ben for sending photos of William.
Miss the boy. And James was gone for a few days too! Luckily only a few days. He brought William home. On Sunday I went to early service (uhhh 8 am) to pick him up from the airport right after.

A sign in our church yard.

A sign on the way home. Yes, it is hot. But since it is the end of the month and I am working on the computer (in the air-conditioned house) it is not too bad. The church newsletter The Cloak (you can click on it if you want to have a look) is done and mailed on time. Always a good feeling.

Tuesday Sarah asked whether we wanted to meet her and the twins at Maymont, a lovely park with some animals (which were rehabilitated but can't be let go back into the wild). Caleb is at golf camp and this fills the time until he needs to be picked up again.

Yes, for a little while we would enjoy dropping what we were doing. We were lucky. The bears are usually hidden but today we could see them really close.

Colin was more interested in the bear statue though.

It really is a nice place to walk around and even see deer grazing. Isn't this a lovely photo?

The twins decided they wanted their lunch a little earlier ... in the shade.

Later James tried out the grill mat, an early birthday gift from Helen. No charcoal taste or flair-ups. Everything was delicious. We grilled four burgers because we love to have leftovers.

James had plans for today Friday. He wanted to go hiking early morning with his buddies. That got cancelled by the weather. We woke up hearing a downpour outside. James checked the gage. 3/4 inches and more coming a little later.

That deserved a nice breakfast. Toast with soft boiled eggs and orange marmalade ... at the window watching the rain. It's all good.

If you are interested ~ ~ ~ I just blogged about my latest Chrismon design and also the Big Cotton Robin  Reveal. Both you can see if you click on the tabs at the very top which are different sites.
