Asia trip Day 15 - at sea

Sunday March 12

Yes, deffinately have grown into liking days at sea. With these wonderful experiences one needs a bit of time to digest them. And, of course, catch up with the blogs. THANK YOU for the comments. We are enjoying those. If you comment "unanimous" please leave your first name. Wondering who "enjoyed" the photo about the restroom on day 12, ha-ha.

Taipei was the end of a trip end and beginning of a new. Lots of passengers changed and also crew. We have a new speaker. Dr. Ronald Orenstein is a Naturalist and with quite a name in his field. At 11 am he talked about "Isolated Beauty - The Nature of the Nansei Photo: The Unique Wildlife of the Ryukyu Islands". We were glad that we had not missed it. We are not good in following all the "entertainment". I wished our boys, at least William, could have heard him. So fascinating.

We had a late breakfast, so we had a late lunch too. This time in the "Wave" which is next to the pool and not buffet. I had a surf and turf. 

Cooked to perfection. The lobster bites were amazing. And ... I like it when things are ready to eat without having to do the work (crab legs would not be my thing).

Well, it is Sunday. Perfect that it is a day at sea. We tried to figure out when we could do St. Martin''s online service. The Sunday 10 am would be around midnight (later) so we decided to find the last Wednesday service. It would good for us.

Ah, land in sight.

We also prepped a bag of laundry (complimentary) for our Stewards to take away. Hope it will not take too long.

The itinerary said that there was a Captain's Cocktail Celebration at 5:45pm. That is always on the second day of a trip. This time we knew the "rules". Alcoholic drinks are not free (if you didn't buy that package) and add up quite costly. At this event you can take a nice glass of wine just before it ends and take it to your dinner table. All the "old" guests know this.

We had arrived a little late and sat for the official part with the introduction of the officers etc in the back. When it came to the social part we turned around. Behind us was a new couple who had arrived from England. We had a very lively conversation. It was so nice that we decided to go to dinner together and share a table. 

We had such a good time that we almost forgot the main show of the evening. We were a little late for "Songs from the Heart" starring Jennifer Gray, a new entertainer on board. It was quite nice.

Afterwards we were still not ready for bed and went again to the "Horizon" for Abba & More. All very relaxing.

Back in the cabin I thought maybe I should not have the coffee at the end of dinner which I seem to like now. But most likely it was all the lively stimulation. So I opened the computer again and we caught the St. Martin's Sunday 10 am service in the middle. Just the perfect ending of a very good day.
