Tuesday July 2
I think we all had a pretty good night ... as good as it can be in such a different environment. Helen went out early to walk to the bakery to get rolls for our breakfast. She had volunteered the evening before to get "orders" and to do it every morning. She takes lovely photos.
When she was back we all could fit easily around that large dining table.
I only took a few photos today. For James, Ute and me it was a low-key day.
The boys had found the soccer table in the basement and took every opportunity to use it.
In the morning Helen, Ute and I drove to Kaufbeuren (the closest rented car place for us) to get Helen added as a second driver. We should have done that at her arrival in Munich but because they didn't get the original flight it had gotten late there.
When we were back we made a picnic lunch for those 7 who were going to the Eurocup game in Munich. About that later.
James, Ute and I stayed at the house and watched that game (starting at 6 pm) on TV.
As Ute is a 5-crown enthusiast as we are, we played some games.
The walk looked like a lot of fun. Here are some photos from Sarah:
Ha-ha, see the heads popping out?
Papa had fun too getting steps.
And here are photos from Helen and Sarah from their adventure actually getting tickets to one of the Eurocup 2024 games. It took place at the FC Bayern München Stadium. We had decided to rent a bigger car so all 7 could go in one car. They had figured out to park at the Fan place and take a shuttle etc etc. Since the game was at 6 pm they also were back in good time. The whole thing a once in a life event.
When Sarah had approached us first whether it was ok if she did this, James and I were very supportive because we remembered taking our girls to a soccer game at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, and they have never forgotten that.
