Best "duty" ever

"Duty over the river" -  ha-ha, that's what we call it when we help out with the grandsons there. Sarah is very good having everything under control but once in a while she asks whether we like to help out. Of course it is nice for us to spend time with them. There was no school on Friday October 22. We decided to take them to a park. They like going for a hike.

We happened to park where there were also horse trailers but across the parking lot. The boys asked whether they could run over there and see them. Before I could think of an answer a lady came over with hers and asked whether they wanted to pet it. Of course the boys were excited.

They knew the trail and they knew there were grasshoppers. So the first thing we had to do catch them and release them.

Half-way we came to the river.

It was time to have the picnic lunch.

The trail was a loop which is nice.

When we were back in the car the boys knew that there was the playground close by so we had a little more fun there. And Papa got a work-out.

Sometimes we have to drop by to see what they are all up to. Building a tree house. It's NOT a one-day project. But here is good progress.

Oh, and Halloween. James and I were invited to dinner and the walk-around-the-neighborhood.
Sarah and Caleb were dinosaurs thanks to a good friend. Colin was one of the TV warriors and Owen a dragon like last year. Everybody was happy.

We have laughed about the dinosuars so many times. Their friends enjoyed it too.

They live in a really nice neighborhood and have found lots of friends there. It was a great choice.
Ha-ha, and Omi and Papa are known too.
