Omi Camp part 7

Saturday July 2

Time to go home. Wade is missing his family. The kids talked even with Stella (the dog) on the phone. I am not sure whether Sarah didn't want to pack up too much food to take home again but she cooked up a storm for breakfast. So delicious.

Last check? Bye bye, cabin!

Papa was asked for his elevation app again. He is holding it up. Wow, higher than yesterday!

Questions, questions from the boys. We were in the Shenandoah Valley and we have to go over the Blue Ridge Mountains to go home.

They were much better on the way back. Not easy for these active kids to be so confined. Yellow car!

And in 2 hours Sarah had dropped us off. Hugs, hugs. And ... see you tonight, ha-ha!

It was just before noon. When I looked in the fridge there was not much in it. Oh yes, I could have found something but ... sitting on the patio of Potros Mexican Restaurant sounded so much better. There was a light breeze, just upsolutely perfect.

I have never seen macaroni & cheese and salad disappear so fast.

Inspecting the yard. A friend gave me the little orange sherry tomato hydro plant some time ago. When we went to England I decided for it to stay indoors would not make any sense if there were no polinators.
Time to Harvest!

And then it was time! We met the others at the City Stadium for a soccer game. The Richmond Kickers vs.  North Carolina FC. Wade used to play on a traveling team in Highschool. I like that beginning AND ending are pretty much written in concrete. And it was a good game especially the second half. Of course Caleb, Colin and Owen had been to a soccer camp before and they like kicking balls around in the back yard. William said that he understands some of the rules too.

The photos are from Sarah.

Yes, the second half really was fun. "We" won 4:1.

Fireworks had been scheduled for 9 pm and it was pretty much on time. And it was fun too. Of course you can't really photograph fireworks. But here is just an impression.

Parking was free but we had quite a walk. Next time we should arrive a bit earlier.
