Getting William

Saturday June 17 - We were supposed to pick up our camper William from the camp between 8:30 and 10 am. We were there at 8:30 sharp. James and I had a cup of coffee in our hotel room and the half each of the apple we had brought from home. No further breakfast needed. And checked out of the hotel in good time. The drive to camp took may be 15 minutes but finding the place to pick him up on the vast property was more difficult. We were not the only ones who had to circle around twice. Check out was fast though and at about 9 am we were on the road back to Virginia.

Well, I was not very good that day to take any photos. Driving time for the distance is about 6 hours and 1 more hour for getting gas, having lunch at Chic-fil-A and stretching legs in a rest stop next to the highway.

Arrived. Texting "arrived" to those who needed to know. Unpacked. Started the washing machine. Watering the garden at 5 pm. William helped. He also blew the patio and walkway off. He knows were Papa hangs that tool.

Sunday. Father's Day! I know how happy I am about all the fathers in my life and how blessed.

Church at 10 am. I had teller duty afterwards. William enjoyed coffee hour. Home to have lunch and arrangements made with Sarah. At 2:30 pm we met at Robius Landing Park at the river for a walk. I missed taking photos of the hugs for William from the cousins.

The photos speak for themselves. A lovely day weatherwise.

At this place Stella wanted to go into the water and whoever held her, lost the leach. But she came back quickly and Sarah took her back to a dry place. The boys had to put their feet briefly into the water too.

Colin is the last to get socks and shoes back on and Papa is staying behind with him.

The creek had to be investigated. All 4 had to balance over fallen trees and look for crawfish. Everybody had a good time.

At the house we watched an important UEFA Nations League Final soccer game Croatia vs Spain. It was very interesting and the boys liked it too especially the penalty shoot out after the final 0:0 and the following sudden death. Then the boys played in the basement and we watched some golf.

During dinner prep the boys played a card game in the screened porch.

After (our very delicious BBQ chicken) dinner we received from Helen text that she wanted a photo of all boys. I tried and Sarah tried but there was always one in the bunch who made a face.

We had given up but Helen wanted one to see the height difference. She got lucky. When Papa and I went to the basement to say bye I was able to line them up. Of course we did have some tippy toeing but finally we settled for a moment.

James and I are at home to get ready for tomorrow. Sarah texted this photo. The boys seemed to have settled down.

Hope everybody there has a good nights' sleep.
