Saturday July 6
Time to pack the suitcases. Time to pack a lunch picnic too. Our time in Lechbruck comes to an end. We read the directions and left the house as best as we could. Johanna, the owner's helper, came to get the keys and she was very nice. This airbnb place was a good find.
We decide not to drive behind each other in the two rented cars. But Sarah suggested to meet for a break and the lunch picnic in Harburg. James and I had faint memories to have been there before. Yes, on the way to Alex' wedding in 2014. That blog is HERE.
But we did find a shady spot for our picnic. It was quite hot in the sun.
Time to leave. Don't let that door hit you (spikes could come down).
And then it was time to continue the drive. Colin had spent some of his pocket money. He was so very proud of his new dagger.
Oh my, when we arrived at the medieval Rothenburg ob der Tauber this driver got a bit nervous. The first entry / drive through the old city wall was half the size of this opening and the street curved right after it. No telling whether a car was coming from the other direction. There would have been not space for both of us.
The GPS led us to the hotel (on the left side right after this gate) but we went through many narrow one-way streets and around tight corners full of pedestrians and cars. When we arrived I didn't know what to do with the car because I didn't see any parking. But Sarah (they had arrived a few minutes earlier) knew already and said "just unload all your stuff and give the car key to the man called Hero". We were treated very nicely and everybody was so friendly.
We had to wait in the lobby for a while though because the rooms were not ready yet. It was early. But there were things to do in the lobby.
