I like our little adventures. When we drove to Nashville right after James' birthday, we decided to spend a night "on the road". James bought tickets for the famous Barter Theater in Abingdon, "The State Theatre of Virginia". It was an ugly rainy day when we arrived in the afternoon and walked to find a restaurant for dinner.

James had decided that we needed to "do it right" and we stayed in the Martha Washington Inn. Lots to see inside when it was bad weather outside.
Our tickets were for next day at 2 pm. So after breakfast in the hotel and some walking around in town we went to lunch at another historic place ... and had fried pickles.
Unfortunately the play was on Stage II and not in the original house. But it was ok.
Right afterwards we continued to Nashville. Helen was happy to see us. We helped her with her house. She even found her favorite doll from long ago: Betsy! She remembers when I sewed it for her. She "helped".
Dinner at the Olive Garden in Mount Juliet. William likes the unlimited salad and unlimited bread sticks.
Guess what William wanted to be for Halloween?
There was a "trunk or treat" at the church were Helen teaches some of her classes. She invited to go with us. It was nice. I liked the "trunk" best where instead of candy the treats were books given out.
Most of the time we seem to be lucky with the weather driving to and from. This time it was eery to drive into and out of the fog in the early morning.
The evening we reached home we also saw an old friend again. Can you see Freddie in the top right corner?
Rare occasion he/she was back the next evening too. This light seems to be a smorgasbord.
