Day 15 of William's visit - part 2

The hike this morning was wonderful. Oh, but we were not done with the day.

The cabin is on the South Fork Shenandoah River. It looks like that the river is flowing very fast but it is not very deep in front of the house. Of course the parents made sure it is safe. And the boys know that lifejackets are a must. They are so just to it they don't even question it. Sarah borrowed one for William. Needless to say that all 4 are good swimmers.

Wade arrived the same time we did from the hike. He had to work but does not want to miss all of the fun. He also brought their fishing gear. The two kayaks are part of the cabin and we could use them.

The boys looked for crawfish. Catch and release. Nobody gets killed but always returned to their environment. They even returned the seaweed (see later photo) because "fish need it for spawning".

Wade grilled out dinner. "Ala card" turkey or beef hamburgers or hotdogs. And salad. And Sarah had all sort of snacks.

After dinner we played "corn hole" for a while. Wade knows all the rules and is good. It was fun for all. Even Omi tried for a while.

When the boys watched some of "their" TV for a while in the game/entertainment room (former garage) the 4 of us adults played cards at the dining room table.
Omi was happy to learn a new card game: Fan Tan. Another game Wade had learned growing up in his family. I really like this game.

Time to go to bed. The boys are always awake early and ready to go.
