Time is a steamroller

Back on Monday December 7th.

Tuesday was spent cleaning and decorating. And some food preparations.

In the evening Sarah invited us for dinner. So nice. Caleb was happy to see us too.

Sarah put all her Chrismons on a separate little tree in the dining room. She reminded me that I had given her the tree when she was in college.

After dinner Caleb wants his "chocolate book". Actually he wants it all the time but Mommy says "after you eat dinner". His response is "no dinner". He still has to learn.

Wednesday ...

... I had the CR Knit Stitch Tat group at my house (10-Noon second Wed of each month). I had volunteered in January not knowing that I would be in Nashville just before. But I had decided not to worry. Nobody will know which of my decorations are not up yet (except for the obviously empty family tree) and nobody volunteered to do that for me ha-ha. After all, it's NOT Christmas YET. It's still Advent. I think we all had a great time.

I was asked to have seating for 21 ladies.

Thursday

At 9 I was going to the "Stitchers for a cause" but before I left I had to "train" James. He had volunteered to work on the boxes for the Chrismons. We have to reach the finish line soon. Chrismon Sunday is this Sunday.

This picture was taken on the last day in Nashville when I had finished the last crown for this year: number 100!

Leaving James scoring and gluing I went to sew ... and to have a festive (potluck) lunch.

Margaret not only brought this cake which she decorated with some stick-ins but ...

... (since she was originally British) she brought a Christmas cracker for everybody. Fun!

I did manage to finish the top I was working on but this day I was the last to leave (it was the last meeting of this year and I was sure I wouldn't know what I was planning to do returning in the new year). No pattern for this one. It's a stack+whack. Once it is quilted and truly finished I will write for "laceandquilts.blogspot" about it. Except for the grey sashing and the outside borders it's made from one fabric.

You bet I gave James a hug when I returned. The boxes were done!

Friday

Sarah's day off. We promised to help. She wanted to do some projects but really not put Caleb into day care.

No problem. Two could work on a project while the third played.

This hangs in Sarah's hallway. I have to look all these up ... as soon as I have time ... after Christmas!

Sunday

Chrismon Sunday! Father Lee talked during the children's sermon about the symbol and after the service I gave out the Chrismons to each child.

Leftovers:

At 2:30 pm I did a workshop to make the big ones for the church tree. Time was too short though. We didn't get quite finished.

But we had fun!

Chocolate BEFORE dinner – I could get behind that, too!

Thank you so much for the crown Chrismon. It is one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen.
