Trip Day 11 - Boston morning and flying to RIC

Sunday June 3

No agenda really. It might have been 8 am when we went downstairs for breakfast. It was very basic but that was good because we had soooo much food in the previous week. It was totally sufficient.

Four heads over the city map what to do this morning. We had till early afternoon when we have to go to the airport.

We decided to walk across the Boston Common again but a different part and to the river. Gosh, it was a lovely morning and walk. Lots of people about but so peaceful.

We passed this Episcopal Church but the service was almost finished. Too late. Well, nature gave us enough to reflect on the awesomeness of our Lord.

We passed the orchestra shell where the Boston Symphony gives the 4th of July concert every year.

Lovely walking along the Charles River ... in the shade.

Lots of Canada geese around even with goslings. Cute. We sat on a bench and watched them for a while.

Arthur Fiedler, the Boston Pops conductor.

Swimming against the stream. There was a benefit 5k or 10k run/walk going on. Lots of cheering on. Whole families and groups of friends. Nice. We did pretty good staying out of the way.

Must have been lunch but I can't remember. I think the eggs where Kate's.

Back to the hotel. Our suitcases were in storage so we retrieved them and called an Uber.

We were a bit early at the airport but you never know how it goes. Traffic, checking in, security - all very efficient and easy. We had some time to spare at the gate but WiFi was free and Kate and Dave could FaceTime with all their children. Time goes quickly then. May be I even worked on a blog?

In the air shortly after six. I love window seats when the weather is good. Boston from above.

James and I had left the Honda at the longterm parking. He got it while we waited for the suitcases.
We were home soon and tried to settle. It's hot in Virginia and upstairs it can get quite hot. Questions like window unit air-conditioner or window open etc.  And what bedding? Everything seems satisfactory.

Night night.
